WHAT IS AN AFFORDABLE DC GENERATOR

The Affordable DC Generator kit gives you all the necessary components to build an inexpensive yet rugged DC generator at home using common hand tools. All you need to do is source the engine and alternator of your choice for your project.

Want a genuine Honda engine...no problem!

Want a lower priced engine...no problem!

Need 6v, 12v, or 24v capability...no problem!

WHAT DOES IT DELIVER

Our first DIY kit will include all of the necessary components to mount a Honda GC160 to an industry standard alternator available with multiple voltage outputs. These off the shelf AC Delco 12si alternators are available in 6v, 12v, 24v, and 48v outputs.  Capable of delivering 400 watts at idle to 1700 watts.

WHAT DOES IT COST

An Affordable DC Generator Kit retails for $249. A Honda GC160 typically goes for $225. A standard off the shelf 12si one wire 12v alternator can be found for around $80. Total assembly cost with a Honda engine $554 without shipping.

Substitute a Predator engine which you can typically find locally at Harbor Freight and your assembly cost with the spacer kit is around $469

If you need a different voltage ouput like 6v or 24v, most of those alternators are the same price so your assembled cost doesn't change with any special configurations. Email us if you need more information regarding an externally regulated alternator like a Balmar or using a Sterling Power controller.
